You know you’re in trouble when…

So yesterday Tony took the boys to dig for fossils for the day and it was just me and my girl. We played countless games of Guess Who, her favorite game and one of my favorites too. I worked on, and finished, my Christmas card templates. And finally I had to face the music and start cleaning the house.

Addy is a total tornado. While she loves to clean, she’s not a big fan of “picking up”. She drops stuff everywhere, all over the house.  I know clutter can make a house look messy and we are no strangers to clutter. But what’s worse than clutter is random toys dropped in every surface of every room. It makes me INSANE.  So it was clean up time.

I asked Addy to pick up her stacking blocks and she stalled and stalled. I finally pulled out the whole “I’m counting to three and then your blocks are going into the garbage” maneuver. To which she said….and I am not kidding….

“Well I guess you have to do what you have to do.”

I actually asked her to clarify as I thought hoped that she was talking about herself, as in “Well I guess I’ll have to pick them up then”. Um, no. She was clear she was talking about ME.

I am in soooo much trouble.

frosty grass

This is one of my favorite pictures that I took last week. This is decorative grass, as seen from above. It was so crazy-cool, glistening in the sun with these individual melting beads of frosty dew. The focus is not perfect and it would have been an AWESOME picture if I had been using a true macro lens. But I love it anyway.  The best part of this picture is what you can’t see – the endless amazingly cool ways to post-process the picture. I almost died trying to decide whether to “dragonize” it or use an ‘ice’ filter or 100 other filters. Every filter looked better than the last. I finally decided just to keep it natural. You can see each individual water drop if you view the full size version.

Some day I’ll have a macro lens.

So I have to ask, did she pick up the blocks or are they in the garbage? :)

I put them in “the garbage” which means I hid them in my room.
