The post where I brag

Addy

I love this girl so much. Today may have been the highlight of my entire life as a Mom of a daughter. There is just something so spectacularly adorable about baby ballerinas!  How they are so slow to catch up, how they miss their cues and watch their teacher the whole time and are just stunned when an audience starts to clap!!! I nearly cried!!! Today was Turkey Dance day, wherein we are allowed into the classroom for 5 minutes (usually we are not allowed in, ever, and can only watch from the window a week or two per month). Let’s just say my girl MAY be addicted to performing. :P While she was stunned by the applause, it was a bit like a light bulb went off in her head. Trouble!!!

In other braggy news, my girl is a master Guess Who player. I would not have thought she would be remotely ready for this game, given that my boys were never quite ready until close to age 6. But she can rock some Guess Who. She asks incredibly inventive questions and totally gets that you have to cover up the characters you rule out. This is so amazing to me. The other day she won against Tony in three turns! She said “Are you sure you know how to play this game?”. ha.  Its things like this that make me wonder what else she’s capable of that I would never think to expose her to at the age of 3.

Along those lines today she came in and asked me to show her how to draw a 9. I showed her and she wrote down 9D9 and proclaimed “Look! I know how to write ninety-nine!”.  Clever, my girl.

Oh, how I love a good Addy update (I know I’ve said that a million times). I LOVE that picture at the top – holy smokes how I love it! The video is so adorable – I’ll be watching that one again tomorrow with my squirt when I need some giggles from her. I love what you say about wondering what else she is capable of that you wouldn’t think of exposing her to – I find myself having that same thought on our end. Addy is one amazing little girl, for sure!

I am CRACKING up at the “first you wiggle….” part. That girl of yours can dance!
She really has the dance dow and is QUITE the performer. : )
You can really see her personality!

My daughter Isabel just started lessons in September. I have only seen one practice: http://mychineseshamrock.blogspot.com/2009/09/twinkle-toes.html and can’t imagine what I’ll be like as they get closer to actually performing in June.

BTW, that dance (and song… which is now stuck in my head!) is absolutely adorable!
