battle of the wills

fun at the park

{he looks happy but I’m fairly sure he was screaming in terror because of the psycho lady at the park who would not leave me alone. Oh wait – maybe that was me screaming in terror while my oblivious soon refused my 15 demands to “get in the car now. let’s go.” People are creepy}

So – battle of the wills 2009: me vs. the christmas tree and, dammit, I’m going to win!!

Every year this tree of mine gives us a huge hassle. Well not EVERY year – but every year since we moved to Texas. I’m sure it has to do with storing it in the garage. By December the lights are fried on half the tree and it’s pre-lit so it is a huge ordeal to fix it. Last year I spent DAYS trying to figure out what to do but finally developed a system that I, thankfully, happen to remember this year. This year it only took me an hour to go from 50% lit to 90% lit. I won’t sleep tonight until I conquer the tree!

Probably I should be baking and cooking. And maybe drinking! But instead I’ll be battling with the dumb tree.

It’s all worth it, though, to see Addy’s face as she looks truly amazed at the beauty that is our tree. She thinks this is all just so amazing and spectacular. I love it. She is the epitome of seeing the joy of Christmas through the eyes of a child!

    Ha! This was so funny. What was psycho lady doing? I can’t believe you get so much done in a day…the tree? Wow. I’m so thankful that all we have to do is go to my parents’ and do the fun part ;)

    Have a great day today.

    We get a real tree, so we have a few weeks to get it. (we buy it at the girls school and they only do 1 weekend) anyway, I can’t WAIT to get the lights up outside and start the advent things.

    Enjoy Thanksgiving!
